I Mean Us - 이 이름은 단순히 어느 밴드의 이름을 넘어, “각기 다른 악기, 생각, 아이디어들을 하나로 결속한다”는 의미를 품고 있다. 때로 그 결과물이 그들의 예상만큼 매끄럽지 못하더라도, 이는 절경을 이루는 산들이 거친 모서리들을 가진 것과 비슷하다.
[Into Innerverse]는 삶의 쓰디쓴 면과 친구를 잃은 슬픔을 마주한 뒤 만들어진 앨범이다. 밤의 유람에 대한 기억, 혼자만의 중얼거림, 죽음과 삶 너머에 대한 상상 등, 모든 곡은 다 다른 이야기들을 담고 있다. 첫 번째 앨범이 세상에 나온 지 3년이 지났고, I Mean Us는 세상과 함께 판데믹을 지나왔다. 이 불안과 무력의 시간은 그들에게 -이미 어둠으로 가득차 있는- 내면의 세계로 파고들게 했다.
I Mean Us는 아직도 우리 마음속 미지의 영역들을 탐험하고 있다. 탐험의 끝에 다다르더라도 아마 초현실적인 그들의 사운드는 멈추지 않을 것이다.

I Mean Us —— This is far beyond just the name of the band, it also means “uniting every single piece of different instruments, ideas and thoughts as one.” Sometimes the outcome isn’t always perfectly smooth as they expected, but it’s just like every spectacular mountain has its striking edges and corners.
The album Into Innerverse was created after facing the bitterness of life and the sorrow of losing friends. All these songs tell different stories, such as a night cruising memory, a self-mumbling moment and an imagination beyond life and death. It has been three years since they released their first debut album. I Mean Us have walked through the pandemic with this world side by side. Those anxious and helpless hours forced them to start digging into the deep innerverse, which was already full of darkness.
Till these days, I Mean Us is still exploring the unknown areas in our hearts. They won’t stop cultivating those alternative and surreal sounds even when the time comes to an end.
